Re: President Trump didn't bow at the plane but he did later when he received...

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you -

I was just speaking as matter of fact regarding the seen and unseen protocol of heads of state demonstrated with the meeting between President Trump and King Salman - there was no personal US political bias meant - only the international global political hierarchy being played out.

Only someone subservient to another bows or prostrates to that person.

If President Trump was superior or above King Salman then King Salman would have bowed to President Trump - even in Saudi Arabia.

To avoid a public (worldwide) revealing and embarrassment President Trump did not bow to King Salman initially but then awkwardly did with the giving of the civilian honorary medallion that was given mostly for just that reason.

President Trump did not need to bend or bow or get lower than the head of King Salman to receive the honor around his neck unless King Salman was (and is) a more important man than Trump. He should have just stood there a head taller than King Salman and King Salman should have reached up and put the medallion around a tall standing President Trump if Trump was the higher ruler of state.

President Trump revealed himself when he bent his knees, bowed his head and lowered his entire body until he was below the head of King Salman.

This demonstrated the relative positions of the President and the King on the global stage.

That being said ---- President Trump did what was required of him and was rewarded. He didn't piss off the Saudi King.
