Re: How much money and time have you spent so far in trading?

I started by watching c-span/bloomberg/general news and picking up on financial jargon. I then found a way to trade at no cost to myself and began trading a few months ago. I haven't spent much time and pulled back quite a bit at one point.

I take very long positions on stocks and generally pick ones which I believe have bottomed or are positioned to continue upward movement continuously. I started with $100 and generally I have mostly made increases or profit on most of my picks. I just haven't had the volume to have any real financial impact on my portfolio.

I use multiple indicators, company history/direction/future/policies, generally news about a company is the last deciding factor in making a trade or not. Recently I have started reading more technical analysis written by more educated/trained/experienced people in order to really understand the mindset for the best strategy in trading.

I started with only $100 because I figured, if I couldn't do it with $100 then I couldn't do it with any amount of dollars.

Hey, how are you doing?

I thought it would be interesting to run a survey on how much has everyone already put into trading.
This includes time and money spent on books, courses, mentoring, blown accounts and what not.

Doesn't matter if you are already successful or not-yet-so, share anyway!

If enough people join, we all can get a glimpse on how we stand among others.

I'll start. Since 2009 when I first heard about trading I spent over $6k on courses, about $500 on books and lost some 2 grand live trading (chickened way early to blow up an account, I guess it paid off in the end haha). Now I hope I've finally built a system that's robust enough to hold for some time and start slowly getting even.
