On June 27, the LaCroix maker plunged 12% in two days when SEC questioned the company's sales measurements. The SEC asked National Beverage to explain how “velocity per outlet” (VPO) and “velocity per capita” (VPC) models work. The company uses those two metrics religiously, but their definition is not clear.
National Beverage declined to provide this information to the regulator. Investors are now watching out for any hidden surprises.
