Re: The Electric Car Future.. I found the Achilles heel for Tesla... in 8-10 ...
Your premise suggests battery tech will be static.
Of course it will improve...most likely dramatically. The range and the battery life will both be like hard drives in computers.
The moon mission computer had a hard drive ...state of the art....1 meg.
Even the cheapest laptops today have several gigs of storage.
That same technological arc will be at work on batteries.
BTW electric cars have something like 90% fewer moving parts that must be lubricated with oil. There are far fewer breakdowns as a result...and far fewer repairs. ..so short car mechanics out a few years....that occupation will gradually wane
Re: The Electric Car Future.. I found the Achilles heel for Tesla... in 8-10 years it will have little if any value because of the battery replacement cost. Therefore ownership costs estimates have to include either a 24K battery replacement or 24K depreciation at the end of 10 years.... I'm on the edge.. it's gonna take a while before other people figure this out... mark this post
Tesla or any electric then become what they are..expensive toys OR infrequently used vehicles to preserve battery life
